Evelí Ray brings a passionate pop song with a flurry of exciting elements with “Particles”

Evelí Ray is able to dream performative music. A skill that is unparalleled, you can almost visualise all the melodies she constructs. It is beautiful tapestry, combined with tones that complement her heavenly voice. This is her latest single called Particles, where dreams and reality find a bridge. Writing music in its true sense is what she does.

There are jazzy pockets of percussions and ambience through which she floats effortlessly. Particles is Evelí Ray creating a passionate conversation between the listener, the psyche and herself. The stringed background plays an important canvas for the colours of her voice. Then you hear the percussive speed of the beat-all building to a stellar peak, after which you will hear her voice again.

This song has been composed like a movie soundtrack. Like a film, the visual composition is equally important to incite the imaginative crux of what you’re listening to. Evelí Ray is able to harness a whole other depth and texture to this song, able to compose it in moments rather than “musical parts”.

Notes to fall in love

The Ocean of You singer is a brilliant writer–which you can listen to in every break of the song. Her influences are wide-ranging, from Sarah McLachlan, Florence & The Machine, Kate Bush to Eivor, AneBrun, Björk or Susanne Sundfør. How she approaches music and the genres she is inspired by give a unique cocktail for consumption, a sober trip through different elements. Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
