It’s been a beat, but they’re back. Fallen Letters, the band from Bangalore, India have been in the shadows, toiling at their debut album–and expectations are high. In their time putting out music and creating a legacy that will long outlast them, they’ve learnt a lot of lessons, for sure. This is their latest single, their first for 2025 called Diminished.
Featuring a little known artist called reflection from Edmonton, Alberta-they open their track in surreal shoegaze goodness. It’s the symphony of a wave, where you’re already dissolved into the choral sound to begin their first release of their year with. Fallen Letters are a collective that clearly respect their inspirations–and are thrilled to be able to emulate them. In this song, they challenge naysayers while perhaps even surprising themselves.

They’ve focused on a tidal wave of sound, something that will occupy the entire volume of space where they play. The mysterious notes are I assume on the minor scale–bringing that melancholy through stained-glass as a visual. As a listener, you might assume the band to create a circular motion of verse-chorus-verse. The pocket in between as an extended limbo is what will take that idea apart. A trumpet solo by Julian Perilli (@jpthemusicenjoyer on Instagram) sneaks its way in, while a jazz progression of drums powers it into a pedestal.

Compared to the other tunes they have written, it is a climb into a whole other genre. Fallen Letters are up to a haul of whole new ideas, wrapped in the novelty of wanting to outdo themselves. There is no doubt they have managed to excite us for what’s to come:
Make sure you follow them on Instagram as well! Fallen Letters are slated to perform with Gutslit, Amorphia & Lotus on 16th May @ Gilly’s Fandom Redefined. You can get your tickets to the event here- https://www.district.in/barbarous-sessions-vol-2-may16-2025/event

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
