The King of Prog is going to visit India this year, and fans cannot keep calm! Yes, you read that right! Steven Wilson, the 57-year-old artist and the founder of progressive rock band Porcupine Tree, announces four shows in the country as part of the tour for his latest full-length album, The Overview.
It is almost a dream come true for all the prog fans in India because Steven Wilson previously visited the country on two occasions. His first visit happens to be with Porcupine Tree in the year 2009 as headliners for the cultural festival Mood Indigo’s Livewire at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, and in 2016 with his solo set at the NH7 Weekender in Pune and Shillong and at the Backdoors festival in Bengaluru. Ever since then, fans have been expecting his return, and finally, after so long, this is happening!
The Overview Tour, which supports the latest full-length release by Steven Wilson, is going to commence on 1st May 2025, but before we get into more details about the dates and tickets for the gigs in India, let us first know about something important!
What does The Overview Tour have in store?
Considering that this is going to be Steven Wilson‘s first tour in the last seven years, fans can certainly keep their expectations high. So, according to Steven Wilson, The Overview Tour is going to be an out-and-out audio-visual experience where the fans will witness the band perform the lates two long pieces from the space-themed album, The Overview. But if you think that’s all, then wait!
Besides performing the whole of the latest album, Steven Wilson also promises to play songs from his previous release, The Harmony Codex, for the first time, along with select songs from all of his past releases. Furthermore, he states that he looks forward to the audience witnessing an epic evening on each of the concert dates in this tour.
Now that this news excites the fans in India, the ones to thank for this are the organizers in the ticketing platform, SkillBox, who are bringing this experience to the country as part of their LiveBox gig series. The Indian leg of The Overview Tour will start in Mumbai on 2nd November, followed by Delhi NCR on 5th November, Kolkata on 7th November, and close with a final show in Bengaluru on 9th November 2025.
Tickets will go live on 12th April 2025 from 12 pm onwards, and a limited number of early bird tickets will be available exclusively on the SkillBox app. So get ready for what is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
