The layered instrumentation slowly builds tension before Izzy’s vocals enter – her voice is so emotive and soulful.
As the repetitive synth riff plays underneath, I found myself completely transported by the song’s serene yet melancholic tone. The strings that come in occasionally lift the music even higher. When it ended, I just sat in stillness, taking in all the emotions it stirred up.

The lyrics conjure up vivid imagery of finding solace in nature yet realizing its impermanence. “Even the trees will leave me” – what a poignant line. It speaks to deeper feelings of isolation we’ve all felt at some point. Izzy Skinner captures that blend of taking comfort in life’s small beauty while being aware of the inevitable passage of time.
