‘Back From the Dead’: Reanimated

‘Back From the Dead’ feels bright, pop-like and almost like a reintroduction, rather than an introduction to the band’s sound. It light, airiness feels like an instant mood-lifter, while its lyrics simply affirm that the narrator, or maybe even this sound is just back to stay.

It feels happy, in the most genuine way, with a soundscape that holds space for a mood that is fun-loving in a refreshing way. Our narrator uses their verses to express and reaffirm their place in this space, even expressing a little bit of shock.

‘Back From the Dead’ feels like its found passion again. It even begins to feel a bit like an anthem of sorts, a bright one that just sounds happy and airy.

“…My love was dead…

…Reanimated, we’re coming back again,

We’re underground, no time for dying yet…”.

The narrator even states, matter-of-fact:

“…I never thought I’d be so dead and gone…”.

‘Back From the Dead’ by a little place called Aspen feels like a reaffirmation of passion, reignited at the source. Its bright instrumentation and sure lyrics make for a unique debut single, capturing the spirit of the band that made it and why they seem to exist in the first place.

The song is simply a refreshing burst of joy in a sound landscape that can reiterate a soulessness at times.
