Fans of Slipknot have long awaited the release of the “lost” experimental album Look Outside Your Window. Recorded in 2008 alongside the band’s fourth studio album All Hope Is Gone, it included Slipknot members: Jim Root on guitars, Shawn “Clown” Crahan on percussion, Sid Wilson on turntables along with Taylor. The album was meant as a side project and was slated to be released in 2019 but has gotten delayed over the years.

Taylor revealed that his packed release schedule was postponing the intentioned release timelines of Slipknot percussionist Clown. Clown mentioned to Taylor: ‘One of the reasons it hasn’t come out is because you keep putting shit out which keeps conflicting with when I want to release it!’
Keeping that in mind, Taylor has hinted for the album to finally see the light of day in 2024, ensuring that no other releases of his would conflict. Taylor mentioned,
“It’s sounding like he’s got a release date that he can finally lock in and I have promised him that I won’t release anything that will ruin that. I think it’s going to be next year – finally, man!‘

Dope and Different
Described by Corey Taylor as “dope and different“, the sound of the record will be more melodic rock than Slipknot’s heavier metal sound.
“I just went back and listened to all that stuff, and it’s so dope and so different. People going into this thinking it sounds like ‘Slipknot’ are so wrong. It doesn’t sound like anything Slipknot have ever done, that’s why it’s its own thing. To me, it really is the long-lost album. The music is so beautiful, it probably has some of my favorite melodies that I’ve done, and people are really going to dig it. Clown did a really good job.“
At one point, Taylor hoped the album would remain unreleased due to the hype and expectations by fans over the years. However, finally after 15 years, the album will see the light of day.
