Jokyo, also known as Jordan Andrew Francis is an ardent singer/songwriter and musician. Based in Redondo Beach, California, he is the up-and-coming EDM and hip-hop artist in the industry. Jokya has been making music for a long, his music resonates with a strong sense of modernness. For the past couple of years, he has released several exclusive original songs and an album, and two eps.
His most recent release is an ep called “Houses in My Head”. It features 6 songs and has a run time of about 24 minutes. It is another classic “Jokyo” masterpiece with each song being so different from another. “Houses in My Head” has all the songs explicit rated, so be ready to listen to some sensitive words. In this age, the use of explicit words in the hip-hop culture is very common as it helps to bring the raw emotions and feelings of the artist via their songs. The ep is filled with passion and hard work by Jokyo, it has got everything that a hip-hop fan would need.
Talking about the songs on the ep in detail. The first track on the list is called “Bleeding For ya Baby”, the song starts with a solid riff on a distorted piano with a great chord progression that builds up the song. Soon an amazing drum beat kicks in with layered vocals of Jordon. At this point, the feels so groovy and amazing. A lot of instruments add up giving the song more depth. The airy vocals and amazing melody set up a great vibe for the song.
Another great song on the ep is called “Corpse Walkin”. The song starts with strange-sounding percussion, a single note on a synth, and a bass line. The drums jump in with a very dramatic style and it has a very groovy beat. Soon the vocals kick in with a very eerie tone in Jokyo’s voice, this gives a lot of horrors and a dark vibe. The song progresses in the latter half, with some new instruments adding up it becomes more interesting. The song ends the same way it starts, it is such a classic move by Jokyo.
The ep “Houses in My Head” is made so wonderfully and the production is just phenomenal. It is a must-listen for all the hip-hop fans out there.
