“Burgers & Fries”, by LuisG: A heartfelt carousel of soft pop and rock!

When he isn’t spending time with his family and pets,New Mexico-based singer and songwriter LuisG is busy at the studio pouring his heart out into songs that genuinely leave a lasting impact, and are shining examples of heartfelt, honest effort– keep reading for my thoughts on his latest single, “Burgers & Fries (no one tells you how to make friends when you’ve grown up)”!

Bringing an element of folk and pop into emotionally charged music, LuisG does a great job setting the atmosphere and the stage right from the start of the song on “Burgers & Fries”– his vocals ring front and centre, and make excellent use of the spotlight, as he brings us heartfelt and emotive lyrics. This, combined with a great sense of melody and harmony, makes for an overall enjoyable vocal presentation. The instruments are right there, too, with the strummed guitars bringing an air of carefreeness and nostalgia, and the gentle drumming wrapping things up quite neatly.

The production retains this gentle, swinging aura throughout the duration of “Burgers & Fries”, with a simple and inviting sound that sounds approachable right from the first strum of the guitars. Through the song, the guitars play the ever patient, letting the vocals evolve and shine, truly, yielding a solid songwriting effort. The mixing does not disappoint, either, bringing Luis forward, allowing his vocals to shine. The master is well-balanced, and brings all the elements together for a friendly, familiar sound dynamic that manages the energy on the song quite nicely, too.

Overall, “Burgers & Fries”, by LuisG: A solid, cohesive effort from LuisG that results in an enjoyable, and definitely memorable listen; executed well with good production and engineering: check out the track here!
