The Finland based Bass FX specialists have dropped a new pedal in their long line of high-end tone shaping tools
Darkglass Electronics has introduced the Luminal Booster Ultra, a cutting-edge pedal designed to redefine tonal control for bass players. Combining their renowned Harmonic Booster with an advanced adjustable frequency range parallel compression, this powerhouse pedal delivers precision and versatility across genres. The Luminal Booster Ultra also features a 6-band EQ, gain reduction meter, and the ability to load seven custom Impulse Responses via USB, providing unparalleled control over tone shaping.
The pedal’s layout is intuitive, offering easy access to key controls. From left to right, users can adjust the lowpass FILTER for the compressed signal, set compression levels with the COMP knob, blend between clean and compressed signals using the BLEND knob, and fine-tune the LEVEL of the compressor. Additional standout controls include a +/- 20dB BOOST, a CHARACTER selector for choosing between seven Impulse Responses, and a MID GAIN +/- 20dB with frequencies ranging from 250Hz to 2.5kHz.
The 6-band EQ utilizes precision faders, offering +/- 13dB adjustments for the bass, mid, and treble ranges. A MASTER fader allows players to control the overall volume with a +/- 12dB adjustment, ensuring perfect balance in any setting.
Long-pressing the left footswitch allows you to toggle between RED (Preamp > Comp > EQ) and BLUE (Comp > Preamp > EQ) modes.
For maximum flexibility, the Luminal Booster Ultra is equipped with ¼” inputs and outputs, a 3.5mm AUX input for practicing with backing tracks, stereo headphone output, balanced XLR direct out, and a USB-C port for connecting to PC or Mac. Players can customize Impulse Responses using the Darkglass Suite, and third-party Impulses are supported as well. The unit also features a ground lift and Cab Sim for added versatility.
