Electric Eye Audio has launched the Cannibal Unicorn, their new Fuzz/Distortion pedal. The boutique pedal has dedicated knobs to shape the guitar tone to the ideal heavy metal sound.
The pedal comes with a Clarity knob and an EBM knob. The unique signal path has two knobs for gain – one main and another Gain1 knob. Apart from these there are three EQ knobs – Volume, Bass and Treble.
What is interesting is how the two Gain knobs function uniquely. The Gain1 knob adds volume and a bit of overdrive to the guitar’s natural tone before Clarity control works on tightening the sound and fine tuning the bass frequencies. Now the signal reaches the main gain control which gives you the option if you want to make the sound even more aggressive.

The final leg of this signal chain are the three EQ controls – Bass, EBM and Treble. Very interesting to notice the EBM knob in the Cannibal Unicorn which stands for Everything But Metal. The 530 Hz mid control further solidifies this sound giving it that brutal metal kick while maintaining a well balanced tone.
