JEKYLLHYDE

The energetic metal act JEYKYLLHYDE captivated audiences with their original songs along with covers of popular tracks by BAD OMENS (no prizes for guessing which song), Deftones, and Linkin Park. The highlight of their performance were the phenomenal growled and screamed vocals. A monstrous and grand set combined with quirky stage antics, this is definitely an act to look forward to!

Hope Awake

Bangalore metalcore band Hope Awake laid down a solid heavy and headbanging set. Showcasing their originals alongside covers from acts like Monuments, their technical metal music is rooted in philosophy and nihilism.  The act featuring M.Roshan Ganesh (drums), Arnav (bass), Kabir Bhattacharya (guitars), and the vocalist Kiran made sure we were djenting through their intensity.

Sapien Error

From the heavier side of things, the night concluded with the more feel-good modern prog closing act. Progressive alt-rock band Sapien Error was truly a delight to behold! From their catchy instrumentals like Nion to songs like Heavy Fire, Porcelain, and Anomaly, every track grabbed your attention.

Their great songwriting combined with a surgically precise execution, made every moment groovable. Vocalist Suryadoy Ghosh’s clean vocals were brilliant and pristine, along with the guitar-smithery by Aditya Krishnan and Prithviraj Sengupta. The clocklike rhythm section comprising Anagh Nayak on drums and Alan Santosh on bass made sure the grooves were solid and tight.

The show was held at The Raft, Koramangala. With no cover charges and a BYOB policy for alcoholic drinks, it was an attractive option for music lovers. The specially curated food at the venue gave larger music festivals a run for their money.

With a great lineup and phenomenal music, we eagerly look forward to the second volume of Modern Machines!
