We have known the American rockstar Jon Bon Jovi for his social work through the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation but we rarely get to see something like this! On Tuesday evening, Sept 10th the rockstar stepped in to save a woman contemplating suicide by jumping from Nashville’s Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. In the heartwarming incident we see Bon Jovi, who was in the middle of shooting a music video, approached the distressed woman along with a video production assistant and talked her into stepping back to safety.
According to local police, while filming the video, Bon Jovi and his crew noticed the woman on the outer ledge of the bridge distressed and ready to jump. Surveillance footage shared by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department shows the moment Jovi approached the woman. Initially he waved at her and then starting talking. The video production assistant joined them and together they helped her back over the railing to safety.
After rescuing her, Jovi embraced the woman and spoke to her until responders approached the scene. Police Chief John Drake praised the efforts by Jovi and his crew members. “It takes all of us to help keep each other safe,” he mentioned.
Nashville’s Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge extends across the Cumberland River in Southern United States. The bridge remained open for the public during the shoot. The incident has been praised by the local police and marks Bon Jovi’s commitment to the community and his ongoing efforts through his foundation.

The rockstar has also supported numerous charitable causes through out the year from Special Olympics to American Red Cross to Habitat for Humanity. The incident marks Bon Jovi’s passionate stance on social issues, his empathetic and quick thinking approach, thus preventing a potential suicide.
