“After 135 concerts in 5 years with 6 million fans” – A Closer Look at RAMMSTEIN Tours

German Neue Deutsche Härte (lit. New German Hardness) band Rammstein have released an almost one hour long documentary on YouTube. Named “Rammstein World Stadium Tour 2019-2024”, the film focusses on the band’s activities over the last 5 years.

Rammstein World Stadium Tour — a journey spanning five years, 135 concerts, and an incredible six million fans in attendance,” reads the YouTube video description.

It further states, “From 2019 to 2024, a video team followed the production, focusing on the impressive efforts of the crew and their various trades. The footage provides an authentic and powerful look behind the scenes of the production: from intricate stage construction and lighting design to pyrotechnics, logistics, and countless other tasks. It highlights the expertise, tireless dedication, close collaboration, and sense of responsibility of an exceptional crew — qualities essential to creating a show of this magnitude.”

Coming to their recent tours, Rammstein’s last European stadium tour ended this year on July 27th with two performances at Veltins Arena in Germany back to back, on 26th and 27th.

In May 2023, German publication Der Spiegel reported sexual misconduct allegations against Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann. A fan alleged Lindemann had drugged her at a pre-concert party. Another fan also came forward with a similar accusation. Lindemann filed a criminal complaint against German publication Der Spiegel for covering the allegations. Lawyers described the accusations as “without exception untrue”. Eventually they dropped the investigation citing lack of evidence.

“Unfounded and excessively exaggerated”: Rammstein call out the dispute

This year August, the band released a statement addressing past allegations. It said, “Since last summer, we have been actively dealing with the accusations made against the band. We take this dispute very seriously, even if much of it is unfounded and excessively exaggerated. It is an inner process that will accompany us for a long time to come. Each of us does this in our own way and deals with it differently.”

The band further expressed their gratitude to their “families and loved ones for their unrestricted support and love”. They wrote that how the media handled the allegations hit their close ones hard.

They further thanked their crew, their management, all of their employees and “everyone who has supported us and remained loyal along this journey”. This massive stadium tour with this great show and this extraordinary stage has now come to an end after 135 concerts in 5 years with 6 million fans.”

“It’s not RAMMSTEIN. It’s not us. It’s not you. The path continues,” the band concluded.

Rammstein released their eighth and latest studio album “Zeit” on April 2022 through Universal Music. It was produced by Berlin producer Olsen Involtini who had also worked on their previous album.  The album was recorded at La Fabrique Studios in St. Rémy de Provence, France.
