Download Festival: A Brief History
Last year the Download Festival 2024 had seen Queens of the Stone Age, Fall Out Boy and Avenged Sevenfold as headliners. The year 2023 was special for the organizers since the festival celebrated its 20th anniversary. The festival was extended to four days instead of the usual three days. 60 artists had performed including headliners Bring Me the Horizon, Slipknot and Metallica.

The Festival started way back in 2003 as a two-day event with Iron Maiden and Audioslave as headliners. From 2005, the organizers expanded it to a three–day extravaganza. The 2019 Download Festival had a headcount of 1,11,000 people, headlined by three-time headliner Def Leppard. Other bands who scored the headliners’ hattrick at the festival include System Of A Down, Aerosmith and Kiss.

Iron Maiden, Metallica and Slipknot have headlined the festival as many as 5 times, while Linkin Park has been there 4 times, mostly during the initial years.
UK’s biggest rock and metal festival is sure to bring fans together again with this promising lineup. Do not forget to book your tickets!
