Ann Arbor’s Michigan Stadium will see its first ever concert, with American singer-songwriter Zach Bryan set to perform this fall, on September 27th. John Mayer will be opening the show. Other supporting acts include Ryan Bingham and The Texas Gentlemen, and Joshua Slone.
The biggest stadium in US, the University of Michigan stadium opened in 1927. The stadium has hosted sporting events such as football, professional hockey and soccer ever since. But this is the first time the stadium is seeing an artist perform. The third largest stadium in the world, the Michigan stadium can accommodate 107,601 people.
“We have been studying and evaluating what it takes to host a concert at Michigan Stadium for a couple of years and today marks that next step in the venture with great partners,” says U-M’s Donald R. Shepherd Director of Athletics, Warde Manuel.
Zach Bryan Live at Michigan Stadium: On the Lookout to Break “North American attendance record for concerts”
Zach Brown recently finished “The Quittin’ Time Tour” where he performed in 85 stadiums and other arenas throughout the country. The show might break the North American attendance record at a concert. So far the record was set on June last year when George Strait performed at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field with a 110,905 headcount.
