Adam Gontier Rejoins Three Days Grace Years After his 2013 Departure

Canadian rock band from Ontario – Three Days Grace took to Instagram to announce the return of former lead singer Adam Gontier. Gontier had left the band in 2013, and was replaced by Matt Walst, younger brother of bassist Brad Walst and previously the lead singer of My Darkest Days. However, Matt Walst will remain the lead singer. The band also announced that they will share details about future tours and upcoming music.

Apart from the two singers on vocal duties, and bassist Brad Walst, the band’s current lineup has Barry Stock on lead guitars and drummer Neil Sanderson. Their latest Instagram post caption reads: “After performing together in Nashville around this time last year and spending time in the studio since, we’re excited to announce the official return of Adam Gontier to vocals in Three Days Grace, with Matt Walst remaining as a lead vocalist, as well.”

The caption further states under “NOTE FROM ADAM”: “I feel like it’s been seamless, better than we were expecting. It’s like we got back in a room together and picked up where we left off. We have been friends for so long it’s kind of natural to get back in the room together.” Matt Walst talks about the inspiring recording process and how exciting he is for the bands to hear the never-done-before record.

What has Adam Gontier been up to all these years?

Back during his resignation, Gontier had shared that he was ready to “move on” and evolve in his own terms. After the band claimed that Gontier had to leave due to unspecified “health issues”, Gontier had specifically stated when it came to drugs or any kind of addiction, he was sober. He had formed the band Saint Asonia after he left Three Days Grace.
