“Holocene unthreading at the seam where our hearts align,” is perhaps the deepest and the most intimate mix of words I’ve come across in any song in this life. This line in ‘Night Light’ mirrored my mind so volcanically, that I thought someday, maybe, I might have written the same words. It dug out a memory so deep that my reality fears to confront. But here I am, grateful to be writing a review, acknowledging a part of me through Matya’s poetic expression of words and her music. ‘Night Light’ by Matya is a resonance from the deepest hertz of heart sound that creates life and eternity.

A Parisian fairy at night, Matya has designed ‘Night Light’ with a sense of beauty. A heaven-like perfection and brought it to Earth at this time. Gabriel Cheurfa’s eccentric direction along with the entire team’s work behind the creation of this masterpiece, is laudable at the highest spectrum of imagination and creativity. The lyricality of the song is perceptible by touch. The words flow seamlessly as the moonbeams on a night sky. The magic is hidden inside the angelic mystery-like Matya’s voice. The video has been shot so craftily, giving it an ethereal yet tangible feel. The music has a funky approach to indie-pop, subtle instruments, electronic notes, and nature’s sound floating in and out.

The vocabulary being my weakness, I have to share my favourite lines in this song. “Speak to me in colors. Trace the stars onto my skin.” “I want you near in every seam. Hold onto me like a dream.” “Never leave My side. Show me how to feel the sun, through the night.” And lastly, the best, “Rain stalls. The garden in my mind that you painted drips in red and blue. Holocene unthreading at the seam where our hearts align.”
