‘Amber’ by Logica Abstracta is an Instrumental EP that Takes its Listener on An Other-Worldly Journey

Amber’ by Logica Abstracta is a 4-track ambient instrumental EP that journeys from a state of limited stasis to one of expansive life. Synths populate this soundscape, stretching and pulling the listener through narratives that expand upwards and outwards from their cores before each fades out, with lasting sonic impact.

‘Amber’: Track-by-Track

‘Amber’: ‘Amber- Video Version’- ‘Different Lizard’

We start ‘Amber- Video Version’, a track dripping with this sense of pulsating life, which is juxtaposed by whipping synths that feel like barricades. Pulses meet sharp cutting sounds, while the track feels as though it marks a moment of stillness and stasis. This much like the EP’s cover, an insect trapped in hardened amber.

Here, we’re introduced to synths that feel like neon, dragging the listener though a space that suspended in time. But this drag also leads to a clawing out, a pull outwards towards a thrumb.

‘Different Lizard’ captures this, with unnerving sounds and syncopated synths that capture this sense of consciousness. There’s this sense that something is rebooting, becoming imbued with new life. Much like the last track, there’s this sense that the soundscape is whipping past, only centered by this fractured synth.

A full sound that feels patched together that becomes fully realised as the track fades off.

‘Amber’: ‘Ecoton’- ‘White Conjuring’

‘Ecoton’ introduces a dark but quick-paced soundscape, one that feels viscerally globular, pushing against the listener’s earbuds. There’s a marked darkness to this track as it pulls upward. As we move, the viscerality of the track fades off, synth chimes pulse in in an attempt to widen the soundscape.

It stretches us past the darkness pushing at us as we move upwards, soaring into the sky. This with a pounding reminiscent of a train whizzing past.

The final track on the EP, ‘White Conjuring’ is settled, calm and expansive. There’s a sense of peace to the soundscape, a piece of serenity. This led by vocalisations that swim around the soundscape, panning from one ear to the other.

The track keeps pulling listeners to new dimensions, swirling with synths that pluck like guitar strings. Here, guitar rhythms feel new and unfamiliar, while the synths help the soundscape expand and soar forever more.

This before th track (and EP) fade out to calm, syncopated rhythms.

Conclusion

‘Amber’ by Logica Abstracta takes its listeners on a fascinating journey through sound and narrative. Its soundscape transforms by the end, pulling in the listener with the promise of an immersive and engaging journey. And it delivers wholly.

The songs are expansive, immersive, evocative and moving.
