Metal Band ‘Kids in Decay’ Takes on Human Entropy in their New Release ‘Dark Tetrad’

In a purely intentional creative expression, the metal band Kids in Decay takes on the extraneous side of Humanity in their latest release, Dark Tetrad, and wraps it up with hope. It is a high-voltage, power-packed, conscious-stirring song for humanity to wake up to the moans of the machines decaying. Kids in Decay commits to making music for the lost, the searching, and the ones who feel everything too deeply. ‘Dark Tetrad’ as the name suggests is a take on the dark aspects of the human characters and how it has taken humanity away.

The song starts with a machine-like bee humming and the rhythm mirroring the heartbeat. The base gives way to the drums and dynamic vocals of the lead singer, which initiates the introspective poetry. “Maybe one day we’ll realise/ we’re merely machines of greed and self desire.” The lyrics make one realise the distorted state of the world today and offer hope by simply asking questions like, What happens when we realise who we truly are, and what if everything we believe we are just stops one day? ‘Dark Tetrad’ deep dives into the psychological darkness of the human mind and creatively tries to show the state of the current situation in their brilliantly made video. The hardcore grunge chorus blasts the listeners with the plight. I love hope the song slowly transmutes the darkness into light, like “fading copper shells/sinking into the soil of yesterday/and poppy seeds blooming once again.”
