Koburg can approach music like a sommelier of genres. Not only is this musician talented, but her skill lies in composing melodies for humans, by the emotional thread that binds us. She is what was lacking in metal, the strain that united us all to be the faction of society that understood each other. She touches upon all this with detail and improves upon her styles, layer by layer. This one is called This Game Called Love.

We can sing about death and destruction in metal a lot. And emphasis on a lot. As sensitive as we don’t admit being, these are the themes that speak to us. Koburg brings us a cinematic emblem of hope, churning it out into some brilliant arrangements. The transcendent version is the one with the hallowed ambiences, just the piano and soft percussions announcing themselves as heartbeats. Her vocals seem to understand you, like a part of your conscience. The harmonies for the chorus are emotive, brilliant and simply classy.
In the journey of melodies
Though she is adept in many styles, the axe wielding genius also composes music which touches on the vulnerability of the human spirit. If this was any sign, let the second version of the song be a reminder. The twisted version has a lot more energy pent up, changing the theme of the song to more of a frustration. It is the want, the desire to be understood. Vulnerability retains, yet an aggression kicks in like a Linkin Park song. Koburg shows her best here, and it is inspiring to listen to the new breed of metal.
The chugging rhythm of the guitar can be juxtaposed with the simple soft brushes of the piano to deliver something revolutionary. As a canvas decorator, she has artistically taken apart the flavour of the song and shown us diametrically opposite essences. It is really something to experience, and is as emotional as it is wrenching.

Twisted Fairytale and her different versions of songs might be a great lesson as listeners and artists. Perception is everything, and a song which is reimagined by its creator retains something special. Whether it be intent or the desire to make something special, Koburg has done it all with this single where both are delivered with emphasis and punctuation.
Emotive lines to seek
Her EP Painted Stars from earlier this year is another earworm that will tug on your hearts strings. As it inspires, it also creates what speaks to our mortality and emotions. You can check out her singles below and follow her on Twitter and Instagram for more to come. She is a prolific creator, and many singles might be lined up before the year-end. Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
