‘GTFO’ by Jane N’ The Jungle is an Electifying Rock Song About Betrayal

‘GTFO’ by Jane N’ The Jungle is an electrifying rock song about a woman scorned. The galvanising song is rife with frustration and hints of betrayal, communicated through its fiery vocals, grating electric guitars and heavy percussion.

“…This is my house…” GTFO

This is especially apparent in its opening line, “…I get paper cuts from the chemical rays of sunshine…reminding me of the days you were mine…”. The singer wants to forget about the person who hurt them.

The melodies on ‘GTFO’ are haunting and alluring. The vocalist’s raspy, almost breathtaking delivery with the instrumetation’s deep, scathing mood, give the song’s overall raw, in-your-face mood.

The guitar solos that follow the refrains feel energiesed by the anger that fuels the song. It bridges the refrain with the verse after it while also sustaining the heavy, brutal attitude that was established before.

The lines in ‘GTFO’’s refrain and mid-section are where the crux of the song’s attitude lies. Lines like “…look what you’ve done,…I’m a bullet in the gun…” accutely captures the hurt and pain this person has caused the singer. This while the line in the bridge (or mid-section) “…This is my house…get the fuck out…” captures the anger that hurt has caused.

In other words, the song tracks its emotional trajectory in an interesting way. This is also evident in its effective use of silence before the final chorus explodes onto the scene.

All in all, ‘GTFO’ by Jane N’ The Jungle is an electrifying rock track that captures feelings of hurt, pain, betrayal and the anger that that  feeling of betrayal causes. Its a cathartic listen, that allows listeners to immerse themselves in the song’s relatable theme.
