‘The Barkers’ by Singer-Songwriter The Linda Brady Revival is a Candid Tirade of the Wild World

After listening to ‘The Barkers’ by The Linda Brady Revival, I immediately thought this song could have had many names. Yet Linda Brady chose ‘The Barker’ as a truthful tirade about the world we live in today. I have always wondered if knowing the truth and calling them out creatively has changed the bigger picture. We know what we don’t want, but do we know what we need? ‘The Barkers’ is a candid retelling of the demons that linger freely in the shadows of human consciousness. They bark lies into existence, and this song is a call out of the lies that have been told for generations now to wake up the collective slowly.

Choosing to speak up for one’s truth is the first and the most courageous step that anyone takes. As an artist, it is our way forward to speak and show what the majority of the collective cannot see. ‘The Barkers’ is a bold song, poetically singing the wrongs of this consumerist world. Like John Roedel says, “Healing isn’t just about a wound having the strength to close, healing is also about a heart finding the courage to reopen”. This is an open-heart truth-ranting revival of the DC-based singer-songwriter Linda Brady.

“I catch my reflection, And I see that I’m one…” hits the most. As lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, it’s difficult to see the shadows of self and accept them as one. But when someone does that, we know that the story has changed its course of monotony, and often Life and its lessons do that to everyone. ‘The Barkers’ is a brilliant straightforward expression of the world that Linda Brady gets to see from her perspective. With a simple guitar and an extremely powerful voice, this is a song of many awakenings.

The Linda Brady Revival returns to the world of music of Linda Brady after two and a half decades of her first album. After dedicating her years to her family and the profession of teaching, Linda is back with a bang of new ideas, and stories to tell the world. Diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease, Brady is channeling her life-changing experiences through a guitar-strummed collection of new songs. ‘The Barkers’ is a hard-hitting musical poem from her new album, ‘Deep Brain Stimulator’.
