‘Dreams’ by Books of Moods is a Soft Indie-Rock Track that Melds the Line Between Soft and Expansive

Dreams’ by Books of Moods is a mellow indie-rock track that flirts with the subtly expansive and soothing comfort found in the crevices between dream and reality. It’s guitar-led soundscape feels a warm, soothing dream, while its lyrics admire the melding of opposites, dark and light.

The narrator in the song seems to be experiencing dream-like euphoria, where shades feel blurred in warm hues. All this grounded in the comfort of waking life.

‘Dreams’: Dream-like Loving/Living

‘Dreams’ begins calm, with that characteristically warm indie charm. Acoustic and comforting, subtle guitar melodies lead us through realisations that so warm. Our narrator finds themselves experiencing a dream-like love, euphoric and easy.

Here, opposites attract and dreams veer away from being dark, though the darkness is still present. “…All night, it feels so good and soothing…”. “….Love at first sight…”.

The melody on ‘Dreams’ subtly sycopates and shifts mood as our narrator becomes more and more sure. The melodies softly meld and expand, while more guitar textures pooling into those easy melodies.

“…Light and shadow meld together so well….” here, first in our narrator’s sleep but now, softly reflecting in their reality. “…(In) My dreams….”.

The warmth of ‘Dreams’ by Books of Moods feels like assurance and a promise. Love feels easy, and light and melds with dark here. Emotions in dreams meld with reality, while reality becomes a dream.

It utilises the warm of the indie genre well, allowing that soothing, comforting warmth to plod through every crevice. Warm, soothing, comforting, intricate and whole.
