Kid Bowery creates some fuzzy folk rock with his latest single, “Devolver”

Kid Bowery is an amalgam of a lot of music he loves. The stellar artist has always brought his mix of inspiration and evolution to the stage-in his music. Embedding his personality like he says adds a whole other layer to it. From the tones to the choices of transitions and percussions, this is a movie that needs to be made. Devolver is in production.

With a vocal filter on, Kid Bowery starts singing. It sounds like a whisper, muted in some places but tonally great. I would have preferred it a bit louder for the gravity of the lyrics. The tones are muddy, grimy and approach your canal directly. Progression parts bring an exciting twist to this element, crafting a niche where you can tastefully absorb his music. Kid Bowery holds your attention with his magnetic personality and world-view. This is what Devolver aims to do. If he wants to deviate like a shot of a bullet, he does so with the panache he has. The break after 2:29 is a strange one. The note echoes on, almost stringing you along for the next narrative. When he returns, it sounds like one of Johnny Marr’s songs, where you’re expecting the chorus to be the colourful explosion. A very interesting and unconventional composition style.

You might have heard his great ideas in Colony Collapse and his idiosyncratic ideas making your brainwaves buzz. Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
