Transcendental emotional folk music. It’s an arduous task, difficult to search for variety. Somehow, Josh Lee Hamilton makes it sound easy. He’s been making soulful music since 2016, and has reached a wide listenership. His lyrics resonate with simple poetry, and cool, flowing chords. This is his 2021 single Feels Like Fire.
Using a simple progression that creates a dreamcatcher of sorts, Josh Lee Hamilton makes a splash. The clicking beat plays out like a metronome, but is just enough to complement Josh’s voice. With soft vocal variations, he almost whispers his lyrics in tone, encouraging a lean in. Harmonics and guitar flourishes are the only additions to otherwise a classic tune with meaningful lyrics. As they give the melody great character in the background, they add an elemental array of heartfelt strings into the track.
Josh Lee Hamilton takes his time with his tracks. He makes sure the arrangement isn’t a half cooked single put out for monetary purposes. His tracks lyrically pursue a deeper truth and make sense, written from the heart. He released two fantastic singles last year, and has a warm reception for his listeners with Feels Like Fire this year. We’re excited to hear what else he can bring.
