Spyderhuff’s ‘Future’ Delivers Psychedelic Garage Blues Rock Trip

Detroit rock band Spyderhuff is known for creating innovative rock rooted in the blues and their latest track, Future, highlights that. This is the fourth track from their latest EP ‘Everybody Needs a Dog‘. With Tom Kuhr on vocals, guitar, sax, and synth, the band includes Don Beyer on bass, James Dooley on drums, Joey Gaydos on lead guitar, and Craig Karavas on piano. Together, they craft a sound that’s eclectic and engaging.

Future is a bold mix of blues rock, psychedelic rock, and garage rock. The song begins with a mix of percussion, piano, and strings, building intrigue. As the slap bass and hypnotic chants kick in, the vocals bring spoken word elements that hint at a haunting reflection on a world shaped by surveillance and control. It’s thought-provoking without being heavy-handed, drawing listeners deeper into its atmosphere.

The trippy instrumental section is where Future really shines. Spyderhuff showcases incredible instrumental interplay, layering saxophones, groovy bass lines, and electric guitar licks in a way that feels both nostalgic and fresh. Fans of psychedelic-era Jimi Hendrix, Cream, or even The Beatles will find plenty to love.

With much of the track being instrumental, Spyderhuff lets their musicianship take center stage. Every element feels purposeful, adding to the track’s dynamic energy. If you’re into blues rock with a psychedelic edge, Spyderhuff’s Future is a must-listen.
