Man, Machine & Future, a Reflective Indie-pop Number ‘falling fwd’ by oph.ai

We humans fear what is unknown. And yet we all know that winning over fear whilst conquering the unknown, evolves our human character. Indie musician oph.ai in his latest single ‘falling fwd’ unleashes a fear of an unknown future coexisting with machines. The music initiates with a thoughtful, heartful acoustic fingerpicking, and slowly, ‘falling fwd’ in eerie layers are sounds that make the listeners feel the machinistic ways of the future. In this indie-pop number, oph.ai brings into perspective the lesser-discussed aspect among the youth about the information-based machines intertwining with human lives.

What is absolutely phenomenal about the song is how it is penned. oph.ai begins the track with, “There’s no word for this feeling that I’m feeling”, gradually evolving into realising that, “There’s a word for this feeling”. The lyrics hide a syllogism here while ending the song with another live example of syllogism. “Turing believe machines can think. Turing lies with men. Therefore machines do not think.” Craftily to say, “Men lie to men. Thinking becomes overthinking. Feelings confuse feelings. AI is just a machine. A dimensional mirror humans have currently tapped-in.”

oph.ai as an artist conceals his human face with a television screen. Although he has crafted a half-man half-machine look, his music is not AI-generated. Listen to ‘falling fwd’ and his other originals on all the music streaming platforms and tell me what you think.
