Spector Boasts Legacy Preamp in new Euro LX Bass Guitars

Bass-heads (the real ones) know Spector to be in the premium range of basses. Yes, basses, do not EVER say bass guitar to an actual bass player. The smooth lows that are laid down by some of the best in the industry love the sound of Spector and the kind of tones they have worked on. In this particular gear review, we have a look at Spector’s new Euro LX bass range.

The new Spector Euro LX series

Don’t they just look gorgeous? First of all, having that thing around your neck is a massive boost to morale. Spector has gone ahead and pulled out all the stops for this bass series. These are carved and crafted with high-grade, premium-quality tone woods, and state-of-the-art hardware. Now, everyone says state of the art a lot. What does it mean here, we’ll let you know.

The build

Like a mortician, let’s look at the body first. The basses feature a European Alder body, a figured European Maple top, and a 3-piece North American Maple neck. Premium-treated woods ensure that the tonality is true to the woods’ nature. The Rosewood fingerboard ensures great stability and strength, to go funk like Flea or sustain the lows like Trujillo. It has premium active pickups from EMG as well, which provides clarity and warmth in tone.

The Spector-Darkglass Electronics Onboard Preamp

Spector has also introduced the Spector Legacy preamp for these basses. The preamp section has been developed in collaboration with Darkglass Electronics for the ‘growling’ tone that has been long associated with Spector instruments.

Now for the look. Because she’s got the look, trust me…

The Spector Euro LX basses are available in 4 hand rubbed stains, including Transparent Black, Natural Sunburst, Haunted Moss, and Nightshade. Just the image makes me want to buy them, and I can’t even play. It could probably be a good foundation on the song I am working on. These beautifully crafted basses are available for £2299.00 in the UK and Ireland for now, so do go ahead and grab one if you can.

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
