True to the original, Cormac keeps it simple with the instruments, with a little bit of a more modern pop twist to the production; trading rustic charm for modern polish, allowing his voice to take the centre stage. Deservedly so– his voice rings clear and distinct, never missing a single opportunity to drive emotion and power. He articulates notes and melodies effortlessly, with the grand piano in the background serving as beautiful accompaniment.

All the praise I have for the original changes none here– because Cormac manages to keep the true essence of the song alive; its wistful, happy overtones still beautifully preserved in his voice, sealed in stone. The brighter, newer instruments add an icing of happiness to the already beautiful original, and that is a big plus, at least to me.

The mix is wide open, with a lot of space for the harmonies to stand out and apart– with a great deal of detail retained in every single element, which is something I loved absolutely– the low end is held together really nicely, with the sparkle serving to keep things moving swimmingly.
