‘The Way Down’ by Matt C. White is a Dynamic Rock Track that Leads Its Listener Down an Intense, Deep Spiral

The Way Down’ by Matt C. White is an energetic rock track that moves downward in energetic spirals. This taking the listener on journey that feels immersive in it’s descent. The lyrics feel almost laid-back, like our narrator knows what’s in store and is moving with the current of the song, not against it.

It’s dynamic spiral reaches deep places, pulling at the listener’s deepest feelings to make the dive into the song’s narrative feel familiar somehow.

‘The Way Down’: descending Spiral

‘The Way Down’ begins with guitars that rough around the edges. This setting the song’s rolling pace as though pushing a bolder down a steep hill. There’s this sense of momentum to the track, allowing its mood and intensity to build as we move down the narrative.

Its mood throughout is deep, dark, groovy, dynamic and energetic, pulling from the engaging interplay between vocal and instrument. This mood is present throughout, further highlighted by the lyric. Which seems to fit in this sort of in between space tonally.

“…I got a feeling I’m on The Way Down,

Can you get to me?….”.

The song seems to embrace it’s predicament, as it were, as spiralling guitars continue to move downward with increasing intensity. “…I feel the bottom coming up…I race it to the end…”.

One can’t help but feel pulled in by this intense swirl, building and constant.

‘The Way Down’ by Matt C. White offers a deep, dynamic experience that feels like a descent into the darkest feelings and emotions one can feel. A downward spiral that feels familiar on occasion, captured with a clarity that feels almost nonchalant.

This building descent captures the essence of every emotion found on the way towards a dark place.
