‘The Songs from The Living Room’: Grooving Into Heartache

‘Move You Body Slowly’ has an air of cosy seduction, placing it in a dimly lit living room that sets the mood for a romantic evening in. Its piano and groovy percussion give the song an expansive, light yet seductive air that feels good.

‘Let The Music Fill You’ begins as though its an extension of the previous song, almost an outro. The song’s rhythm is addictive, highlighting this sense of abandon and the urge to “…let the music fill you…”.

‘It’s Too Late To Love You-Extended’ like the title suggests, is an extended version of the single. Its piano-led melody is sad, wistful and longing, while the lyrics in a duet with Narada Michael Walden highlights this gloomy, misty air. The two lovers in the song acknowledge that what they’re getting away from aren’t the bright memories they shared, but the sadness that seems to permeate when they’re together.

“…The love in your eyes is gone,

The walls around your heart too strong…”.

Its the end of what was something that seemed special.

‘One More Time’ is a synth and piano-led 90’s club jam that deals with the fallout from the previous song. It holds the longing from the last song, while trying to push through the emotion and escape into the music that could drown those emotions out.

“…One more time to make things right,…

…To forget it all,…to dance again.

One more time to help you love me again,….

…To help me love myself again…”.

‘Remember Me Again’ is an ethereal synth-led track that sits in this heavy sense of heartache. Its soft and flowy, touching on breathy, wispy memories and emotions that are fading as though time is passing by with every line.

“…Breathe me in, breathe me out, hold me in…”.

‘The Songs from The Living Room’: New Beginnings and Optimism

‘I Want To Write This Song’ moves away from longing, seeking out connection. The percussion leads the song into something a bit lighter and bluesy, while the lyrics talk about wanting to write a song that immortalised this new connection.

“…I want to write this song, give you a memory.

I want to hold your voice and make you smile…”.

‘I’m Not Afraid To Dream Again- Extended’ is percussion and synth-led track dripping in strength and optimism. Its soundscape a slow, with percussion that beats through trepidation and a good feeling. The lyrics talk about feeling rejuvenated and optimistic again, almost a reawakening.

“…I’m not afraid to dream again. You’ve opened up my soul…”.

Its light, bright and optimistic.

‘Cherries & Cream’ is a song with soft synths and a seductive edge. Its a fun song, full of double entendres and a promise of commitment and love that’s worth it. “…Touch me when no one’s watching, let’s keep it a secret…”.

“…I promise you someday it’ll be worth it…”.

‘Love Them Away’ is a piano-led ballad filled with hope and a strong promise of commitment. Its got a sense of something being built and strengthened. This while vowing to be there forever.

“…If you don’t have the words, understand that your heart will always be safe in my hands.

There’s nothing you can do to make me walk away…

I’m here to stay…”.

‘The Songs from The Living Room’-Extended

‘I Want To Write This Song-Extended’ reaffirms this commitment, with a more pronounced percussion and a saxophone. It’s theme is a bit more expanded, with the promise of writing this love song, to reaffirm the love being felt.

“…I want to write you this love song…”.

“…I love you…”.
